Comprehensive Treatment

Comprehensive Treatment at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center

A comprehensive residential treatment program may be the best care option for adults who might benefit from consistent assistance and structured treatment. If you are looking for a level of care that features personalized attention in a beautiful setting, you may find what you need at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center’s residential treatment facility. We offer well-rounded care for those who are suffering from addictions to opioids, alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, and benzos.

Our residential rehab staff understands that substance abuse and mental health disorders can often co-occur. Though our facility is primarily a residential drug treatment center, we believe that simultaneously treating mental health disorders can best help our clients heal.

At our residential treatment rehab near Atlanta, we treat co-occurring mental health concerns for clients who have a primary substance use disorder. We offer care for those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders, and trauma-related concerns like posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Through our comprehensive programming, which includes individual therapy, groups, family counseling, and experiential activities, clients can explore relevant topics, learn coping skills, and find excellent support. The core components of our residential program are daily groups and regular individual therapy sessions. However, we also emphasize our experiential therapies, since we believe that addressing the mind and body together can yield the best treatment outcomes.

Our attention to the physical, psychological, and social aspects of addiction can best help our clients, as it provides a comprehensive approach to recovery. Together, therapy sessions, group meetings, and 12-Step meetings typically keep our clients engaged throughout the entire day and much of the evening.

Therapies We Use at Blue Ridge Residential Treatment Center

At our residential facility, we deliver a specialized clinical program that follows the principles of whole-person care. Depending on your needs, when you take part in our Ball Ground residential rehab program, we strive to help you work on self-care, practice grounding, and learn valuable coping strategies.

If you are struggling with a substance use disorder, you may benefit from services like psychoeducation, art therapy, substance abuse groups, and community meetings. Our approach to care can help you acquire the tools you need to build a solid foundation for recovery.

In our residential program, we incorporate evidence-based therapies into clients’ treatment plans to help them reach their therapeutic goals. For example, we offer cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as a way for clients to incorporate mindfulness into the healing process. These therapies aim to help clients identify and alter negative thought patterns and develop coping strategies that can aid them in the recovery process. We can also offer the following therapies to help our clients heal:

  • Weekly individual therapy sessions with a licensed therapist or social worker
  • Meetings with a psychiatrist if needed
  • Three family counseling sessions held periodically during the client’s stay
  • Music therapy
  • Expressive therapy
  • Crisis intervention
  • Person-centered and solution-focused therapies
  • Diverse daily groups that include dynamic and creative approaches to long-term healing

While we provide a diverse range of residential therapies and services, group therapy is the foundation of our treatment offerings. We typically offer six hours of group therapy daily, seven days per week. Group sessions are led by our medical director, licensed nurses, licensed professional counselors, certified addiction counselors, social workers, and multiple other behavioral health professionals who specialize in addiction treatment.

At our residential treatment rehab, we pride ourselves on our expertise and strive to keep informed on the latest and most effective addiction treatment research. We feel it is our responsibility to know as much as we can so that we can share this knowledge with our clients. Topics we commonly cover in group counseling sessions include:

  • Anger management
  • Co-occurring mental health disorders and integrated treatment
  • Spirituality and the recovery process
  • Support systems
  • Goal setting and accountability
  • Resilience and hope
  • 12-Step recovery model
  • Withdrawal
  • Acceptance

At Blue Ridge’s residential treatment center, we take pride in our knowledge and work together to develop effective ways to educate and lead our clients. We strive to follow these fundamental principles as we work together with clients:

  • Keep it flexible and informal.
  • Present one concept at a time.
  • Keep it simple.
  • Offer concrete examples.
  • Use multiple senses.
  • Repeat, repeat, repeat.
  • Individualize concepts and ideas.

While education is a strong focus for us at Blue Ridge, we also value the compassionate support that is crucial for our clients’ healing journeys. Group meetings, guest lectures, and community gatherings can allow our clients to share their stories and offer each other encouragement along the way. The peer support network that many of our clients build while at our residential substance abuse treatment center is often a valuable part of our program.

There are several areas of the programming that I LOVE, but weekly yoga and DBT have to be some of the highlights.
